How to use the Use Case Generator

Identify a task/process/challenge that you or your forensic science service provider has. For example, a task might be to classify bloodstain patterns or compare latent prints. A process might be to estimate how long an examination might take. A challenge might be that you have large backlogs.

Identify who the actor is (e.g., bloodstain pattern analyst, DNA analyst, laboratory director, quality assurance manager, technical leader, etc.) who carries out that task/process or is facing that challenge.

Consider why you do that task/process, or why you want to overcome that challenge

Once you’ve thought about these, create a “user story” by filling out the form below. Click “create” to see the ways the AI might be able to transform that use case. Here are some examples:

01

Example 01

AS A: Laboratory director
I WANT TO: manage my staff’s workload
SO THAT I CAN: prevent burnout.

02

Example 02

AS A: Bloodstain pattern analyst
I WANT TO: identify which bloodstain patterns at a scene have the most discriminatory features
SO THAT I CAN: examine patterns that are more likely to be accurately classified than those with ambiguous features.
